Gifts to Jaz

Let’s make a difference in cancer research in memory of my dear sister, Jazmine.

Hello everyone!

Thank you for stopping by for my sister’s birthday this year.

Last year, we were able to raise over $4,500 for ovarian cancer research and women’s cancer research in general. In that time span, there has been quite a few new research advancements and treatment developments. Here are some ways donations like this has helped fund research last year.

  1. Purdue University developed a highlighting marker drug that can identify ovarian cancer lesions during surgery! Link

  2. The University of Washington released published new insights on how ovarian cancers resist certain chemotherapy drugs and which patients respond favorably to these drugs. Link

  3. Rice University bioengineers have shown they can eradicate advanced-stage ovarian and colorectal cancer in mice in as little as six days with a treatment that could be ready for human clinical trials later this year. Link

  4. Experts are pushing for more diversity in research studies and addressing the disparity in races, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, varying physical, genetic and environmental factors and vulnerabilities that come into play with diseases. And overall helping treat and prevent disease better. Link

This year, I am keeping up with tradition and donating again to ovarian cancer research and women’s cancer research.

If you would like to include your donation with mine this year, you can send it to me via one of the apps on the about page.
